multimodal figure drawing // october

Hi all!

Figure drawing coming up again next week on Weds 10/21, 6-8 PM at Baltimore Free School/Red Emma's as per usual! Our next model is Abdul-Azeez (he/him). He will be the first model without experience figure modeling prior to this night, which is something I've also wanted to put forward in this event. As this is now the ninth consecutive month running it, keeping it accessible and open to people of all experiences and backgrounds remains my priority, so please don't hesitate to sign up to model or host (links at the end of this newsletter). I'll be bugging folks again because I may be unavailable to run the November session. My thoughts lately also are that in the new year, I'll alternate between booking experienced nude/traditional models and newbies or other kinds of models.

I am hoping to start up a separate newsletter for my own arts practice and life but have been figuring out the logistics on how to do that through a single platform (it's possible but a little finnicky). It may look like converting this into the main list with the caveat of "if you *only* want updates for multimodal figure drawing night, please unsubscribe and then resubscribe to this link that will put you on a separate list." Sorry if that's annoying... To be honest, the last month was really hard for me. I'm still treading water but seeing a path up, so thank you for supporting my ideas, being in community with me, and sharing this moment in time where we can be present and in flow with the act of drawing. I need the reminder regularly that this is a magical and special thing that humans can do.

For the sake of continuity/because archiving is important to me, here's the last newsletter from September. I switched to a new service though so don't resubscribe to this one, it will not be touched again haha.
